Everyone Can Achieve!

Kingsmead is an increasingly popular, mixed 11-19 comprehensive school. Our location adjacent to major traffic routes and bus services ensures that our site is easily accessible throughout the borough of Enfield. We are very proud of our multicultural, inclusive ethos. Our school motto is 'everyone can achieve'.

Kingsmead has a strong record of raising achievement. Our teaching has been commended by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), Her Majesty’s Inspectors and the Local Authority. In the most recent government league tables, Kingsmead topped the table in Enfield for Contextual Value Added (CVA), which reflects how positively a school influences students' achievements. This ranked us amongst the top 5% of schools nationally!

We have particular strengths in Art, Dance, Drama, Media and Music. In September 2006 we were awarded Specialist Status in the Performing and Visual Arts and in May 2007 gained the prestigious Artsmark Gold award. Our school hall has recently been developed into a dedicated 278 seat theatre. The development of a dedicated dance studio is also planned.

We pride ourselves on offering a vibrant teaching and learning culture. Our facilities are modern and well equipped. In recent years the Food and Textiles and Materials and Graphics Technology buildings have been completely refurbished and elsewhere the school provides a colourful and stimulating environment.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection (December 2007) concluded that 'Kingsmead is an outstanding school where there is no room for complacency. The headteacher's calm and highly effective leadership ensures that managers at all levels are 'on board' and committed to the succes of the school.'
