Outstanding OfSTED Inspection!

On Monday 10th December we were given just three days notice of an Office for Standards in Education (OfSTED) inspection to take place on Thursday 13th December.

We are proud to report that as a result of this inspection, Kingsmead was officially rated an 'OUTSTANDING' school - the highest grade that OfSTED awards. We are the only secondary school in Enfield to be awarded this grade in all of the categories under inspection.

In the official report, the lead inspector states, 'Kingsmead is an outstanding school where there is no room for complacency.' The inspector is enthusiastic in her praise of the leadership team, commitment, hard work and pride of all staff, students and parents, quoting one parent as saying 'I have not got a bad word to say about Kingsmead. The school and teachers are fantastic!'

The Value of Kingsmead

For the second successive year Kingsmead is sitting proudly at the top of one of the Government's education league tables. In figures realeased by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) in January 2008, Kingsmead tops the league for all secondary schools in Enfield for Contextual Value Added (CVA) or Valued Added as it is commonly referred to.

What Value Added signifies is the 'value' a secondary school adds to a student's predicted achievement from Key Stage 2 results through to actuality with Key Stage 4 GCSE results. It indicates the positive influence a secondary school has on its students and the evidence is that Kingsmead is the most positively influential school in Enfield!
