Geography

In this course you will study our planet and the lives of the people who inhabit different parts of it.

What will I learn?

You will examine how people interact with the environment, observing and analysing facts using maps, photographs and statistical data. You will study the following modules: You will be able to use and extend your IT skills by researching and presenting data in a variety of formats.

What sort of homework will I be set?

This will be a mixture of research, coursework tasks, practice examination questions and worksheets.

What coursework will I need to do?

You will have to complete two pieces of coursework:
  1. Study: a piece of coursework undertaken through fieldwork
  2. Cross-unit task: a research assignment
One (or both) of these will involve fieldwork.

How will my work be assessed?

There are two final written exam papers. Your final GCSE grade will depend on:
Coursework study 15%
Cross-unit task 10%
Final exams 75%
