Open Evening Success
Last Thursday evening, Kingsmead opened its doors to prospective parents. Kingsmead attracted its biggest audience ever.
Lots of Interest
So why did so many more people come to Kingsmead this year?
No doubt seeing the commitment and enthusiasm of Kingsmead students on Sky 1's Hairspray played a part. But also
local publicity, our “Outstanding” grading from OfSTED as well as our regular involvement in community projects such
as the recent “Romeo and Juliet” performance with Waverly School students at the Millfield Theatre, played a part.
A busy night
The Theatre was filled four times over for talks from new headteacher, Mrs Barry and at one point the queue for admission streached from the reception to the school gate. Those who attended were dazzled by displays of talent in all areas of the school as well as the presentations of high quality work by staff and students. Most importantly, talking to everyone involved in teaching and learning at Kingsmead, families were able to get a flavour of what it is that makes Kingsmead an outstanding School.
